Frequently Asked Questions

For Guests

Do I need previous fishing experience?+

Not at all. Many of our charters are designed for complete beginners. Our captains are experienced in teaching all skill levels. When searching, use the 'Family Fishing' or 'Bottom Fishing' filters to find beginner-friendly options.

What fishing equipment is provided?+

All charters include the essential fishing equipment — rods, reels, lures, and bait. Specialist equipment (e.g., fly fishing gear, jigging rods) is specified in each charter listing. You're welcome to bring your own equipment if you prefer.

How do I pay for a charter?+

Payment is handled directly between you and the captain — typically a deposit to confirm, with the balance due on the day of the trip. We do not process payments and take no commission.

What happens if the weather is bad?+

The captain will assess conditions on the morning of the trip. If it's unsafe to fish, most captains offer a free reschedule or full refund. Always confirm the cancellation policy when making your inquiry.

Can I bring non-fishing guests?+

Yes, in most cases. Confirm with the captain when booking — most boats are happy to accommodate passengers who want to enjoy the experience without fishing.

What should I bring on the trip?+

Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, UV clothing), light comfortable clothing, seasickness medication if required, a camera, water, and snacks. Most charters provide light refreshments.

For Operators

Is it free to list my charter?+

Yes, completely free. We charge no listing fee and take no commission on bookings. You deal directly with guests and keep 100% of your earnings.

How do I get listed?+

Fill in the application form on our 'List Your Charter' page. Our team reviews applications within 24 hours and helps you set up your listing.

What certifications do I need?+

You must hold a valid Maldives Transport Authority (MTA) maritime certification. Your vessel must also be registered and insured. We verify all documentation before listing.

Can I list multiple boats?+

Yes. You can list as many vessels as you operate. Each boat gets its own listing page with individual pricing, availability, and photos.

Bookings & Payments

How does booking work?+

You send an inquiry through our platform. The captain reviews and responds, usually within a few hours. You agree on the details, and the captain confirms your booking.

What is the cancellation policy?+

Policies vary by operator and are clearly stated on each listing. Typically, cancellations more than 48 hours before departure receive a full refund. Within 48 hours, a partial fee may apply.

Is there travel insurance available?+

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers fishing activities. While we can recommend reputable providers, insurance is not sold through our platform.
